Road Committee

As you can image, the Road Committee is all about the roads right of way and signage within the Elkhorn community. From routine maintenance such as chip sealing, dust control, limbing, dangerous tree removal and minor repairs to snow removal and sweeping, the Road Committee intends to keep our travel paths as safe as possible. This committee was recently revamped to include gate, signage, and weed activities

The Road Committee is also actively working with the Board of Directors when it comes to capital improvements such as asphalt paving.

Gate

As a member of Elkhorn, residents receive two codes for use at the keypad on the public side of the gate. The first code is the primary code for member; whereas, the secondary code can be given to guests, contractors, realtors, etc. These two codes are unique to each member, so please do not share them with one another. At any time, the code or codes can be changed by making a simple request to gate@elkhornhoa.com.

For convenience, members also have the option of purchasing one or remote controls. The remote control will open the front gate from roughly the transmission power pole adjacent to the road.

When exiting the community, the gate will automatically open. By traveling the posted 15mph speed limit, the gate will open before a vehicle reaches the gate. If a car has to slow down or stop to permit the gate to fully open, the operator is likely traveling above the speed limit.

In the event of power outages, the gate has a design feature to automatically open.

Weed

Did you know that landowners in the State of Montana have a legal obligation to control the presence of noxious weeds? While this may seem like never ending battle, our noxious weeds eradication efforts do make a positive impact.

There are two primary lists that we need to use when it comes to noxious weeds. The first comes from the State of Montana. The second list comes from Flathead County.

Online resources for current lists and identification are:
